The founder of Peltz and Associates Physical Therapy Inc, Dr. Aaron Peltz, DPT, OCS, has had extensive training in the assessment and treatment of all people with functional impairments and neuromusculoskeletal injuries.

Dr. Peltz earned his Bachelor of Science degree with honors in Exercise Science/Sports Medicine from Willamette University. He then served as a Physical Therapy Aide in Oregon for two years, where he became dedicated to promoting the well being of patients.

He earned his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Southern California, ranked #1 in the nation in Physical Therapy education. During his graduate work at USC, Dr. Peltz participated in six clinical internships and conducted research in USC's Cellular and Biokinesiology lab, studying the effects of hormones on gene expression.

After his success at USC, Dr. Peltz was offered a position in an orthopaedic private practice in Beverly Hills. Desiring to excel in his profession, Dr. Peltz continued his education with post-doctoral training in the Kaiser Permanente Southern California Orthopaedic Physical Therapy Residency, one of the most respected programs on the west coast. This experience enhanced his diagnostic and treatment skills and prepared him to become a Board Certified Orthopaedic Specialist in Physical Therapy.

Through his extensive education and clinical work, Dr. Peltz has become skilled in the assessment and management of all patients with orthopaedic impairments. He maintains the highest standards of care for all of his patients and continues to be a leader in applying evidence-based medicine by conducting research in the classification and treatment of low back pain. Dr. Peltz is a driving influence of the success of Peltz and Associates Physical Therapy Inc and envisions the potential for cutting-edge medical treatment in Santa Rosa, California.

Alyssa Keeney

Alyssa Keeney-Roe, PT, DPT, FAAOMPT, OCS

  • Alyssa grew up in Potter Valley, CA. She began her undergraduate at Occidental College in Los Angeles where she met her husband. After two years she transferred to San Francisco State University to study abroad in Spain. She graduated with a degree in Kinesiology with an Emphasis in Exercise Science and Fitness. Alyssa attended physical therapy school at UCSF/SFSU where she got her Master of Science (MS) and her Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT). Immediately after her DPT program, she completed a residency program through Kaiser Hayward Mentorship in Advanced Orthopedic Manual Therapy. Her specialization was in physical therapy diagnosis and manual therapy, specifically the lumbar, thoracic and cervical spine as well as the shoulder and the knee.

    After practicing for a few years Alyssa, ever looking to advance her knowledge and skills, completed a yearlong Fellowship in Advanced Orthopedic Manual Therapy through Kaiser Hayward. This program emphasizes diagnosis and management of complex and multifactorial orthopedic problems, training to become a clinical specialist, faculty member and/or consultant as well as extensive mentoring in the Australian-based approach to manual therapy in the spine and all peripheral joints. Alyssa is highly interested in the legislative aspect of physical therapy and has been involved at the district and state level for eight years and nationally for one year. She is very passionate about exercise and travel. She played college-level soccer and rowed crew. She has done more than 10 triathlons and supports her husband who is a cyclist. Ask Alyssa about her travels and volunteering overseas. She speaks Spanish.

Dr. Will Kessler

Will Kesler, PT, DPT, OCS

Will grew up in Rohnert Park, CA. He earned his undergraduate degree from UC Davis in Exercise Biology.

Will went on to the University of Southern California for Physical Therapy graduate school. He earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy Degree in 2015 from USC. Dr. Kesler is a Board Certified Orthopaedic Specialist in Physical Therapy and also holds an advanced certificate in vestibular rehabilitation, treating dizziness/vertigo and balance disorders. He focuses on improving all of his patient’s quality of life and returning them to the activities they enjoy.

In his spare time, Will enjoys all things outdoors. He likes to run, swim and bike and competes in several triathlons per year.

Dr. Desirae Skadal

Desirae Skadal, PT DPT, CLT

Desirae grew up in St. Helena, CA. She attended the University of San Diego graduating in 2011 with a degree in Spanish. After getting injured playing rugby and experiencing the benefits of physical therapy rehabilitation, she chose to become a physical therapist. She moved to Pennsylvania and attended Saint Francis University for her graduate physical therapy education. She was active in her program, helping to start a pro bono clinic on campus that was run by physical therapy students, working as an aide at an inpatient rehabilitation hospital, as well as participating in Relay for Life on the grad team each year.

She completed her Doctorate of Physical Therapy in spring 2015. She moved back to California to be near family and home. In addition to working on orthopedic issues, Desirae is a certified lymphedema therapist having completed an intensive course for the prevention and treatment of lymphedema. She hopes to expand her knowledge and experience at Peltz & Associates Physical Therapy Inc and is excited to be working with an exceptional group of clinicians.

Desirae stays active by hiking, working out at the gym, spending time with family, and she plays a mean bocce ball game.

Samantha Jacobs

Samantha Jacobs, PT, MSPT, CLT

Samantha Jacobs graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education and Kinesiology from California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo in 1998. She continued her education receiving a Masters of Science in Physical Therapy from Regis University in Denver, Colorado in 2001. Sam has worked with patients of all ages primarily treating orthopedic issues with both Pilates-based and conventional exercise. She has also worked in treating patients with vestibular difficulties. In 2016, she became certified in the treatment and prevention of lymphedema. Through all areas of treatment, she values taking time to educate clients so that they may be able to ultimately take control of their own well-being.

In her free time, Samantha enjoys cooking, sewing, and bike riding with friends and family.

Joonmyung Hwang

Joonmyung Hwang, PT, DPT

Joonmyung earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Neuroscience from the University of Michigan. He went on to the University of Southern California and earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree. After he graduated from physical therapy graduate school, Joonmyung worked at a busy outpatient clinic in Burbank, California. In that setting, he encountered a wide variety of patients with conditions ranging from orthopedic to vestibular dysfunction, stroke and amputation. Joonmyung is happy to be part of the excellent team at Peltz & Associates Physical Therapy Inc where he is pursuing an orthopedic physical therapy residency through Evidence in Motion and further training in vestibular rehabilitation. He has a martial arts background and practices handsprings and swordsmanship. He is also fluent in Korean.

Max Smith

Max Smith, PT, DPT

Max grew up in Santa Rosa and attended Montgomery High School where he played soccer and ran track. Following his passion for being active and exploring the outdoors, Max earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Oregon in Human Physiology. He then spent a year working as a Physical Therapy Aide in Oakland, where he applied his knowledge to patient-centered therapeutic exercise.

Max attended the University of Saint Augustine for Health Sciences in San Marcos, CA to complete his Doctorate of Physical Therapy. After working as a Teaching Assistant in the anatomy lab and traveling to Alaska and Texas for clinical internships, Max graduated with honors. As a clinician, Max enjoys working with patients to identify their goals and to then create a thorough plan to accomplish their goals. Outside of the clinic, Max enjoys hiking, biking, and kayaking throughout Sonoma County.

Steve Lovett

Steve Lovett, PT, DPT

Steve earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology from Sonoma State University. He then went to Samuel Merritt University and earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree. He has worked, interned and volunteered in a variety of settings from Hippotherapy (physical therapy that uses horses) to traditional outpatient physical therapy. Steve is always striving to improve his skills and has taken many classes to meet his personal goals. Steve grew up in Sonoma County in the redwoods of Cazadero. He enjoys all kinds of outdoors activities including walking, hiking and camping. He gets the greatest satisfaction out of seeing patients improve and achieve their goals.

Kellye McKee

Kellye McKee, PT, DPT

Kellye graduated from Sonoma State University in 2008 with her Bachelor’s degree in Theater Arts with an emphasis in Dance. After graduation, Kellye worked as a professional whitewater raft guide leading multi-day wilderness trips in California, Idaho, and Oregon. To complement the seasonal nature of guiding, Kellye danced professionally in San Francisco and SonomaCounty. Kellye’s continued fascination with the human body and her desire to help others regain their physical health and mobility inspired her to continue her education. Kellye graduated with her Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2017 from Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions in Utah.

Upon the completion of her doctorate, Kellye began working with individuals of all ages and backgrounds in an outpatient orthopaedic setting in Sonoma County. After a few years as a clinician, Kellye decided to advance her knowledge with a year-long post-doctoral training and completed the Kaiser Permanente Northern California Orthopaedic Physical Therapy Residency.

Kellye is invested in the provider-patient partnership. She strives not only to help patients realize their goals, but also, to enhance their well-being in the long-term. Given her professional experiences, Kellye is particularly passionate about working with dancers. She is also interested in working with patients who are pregnant or post-partum. Off the clock, you’ll find Kellye teaching fitness classes, spending time rafting and kayaking, hiking outside with friends and family, or with her husband and their adorable dog, Roo.

Ali Samii

Ali Samii, PT, DPT

Ali grew up in Santa Rosa and attended the SRJC and Sonoma State to complete his Bachelor’s degree in exercise science. He spent a few years working in the public health sector and developed a passion for community education. His public service work aimed towards empowering individuals and families to better manage their own health through eating healthy foods and exercising regularly. Ali also worked with the Catholic Charities housing program helping families who were impacted by the 2017 Tubbs fire.

Ali continued in his passion for health education and preventative medicine by pursuing his Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree through Fresno State University. Ali completed his degree, and his doctoral project on prevention of low back pain in nurses was selected as Outstanding Doctoral Project of 2021 from Fresno State. Ali intends to continue with his research in back pain prevention in nurses and will hopefully include in-home caregivers too. In clinic, Ali strives to empower all patients with the skills and knowledge to help their bodies feel and move better. Outside of clinic, he enjoys hiking in regional parks, taking trips to the coast, going to local music shows, and learning how to camp.

Carrie Marcotte

Carrie Marcotte, PT, MSPT, CLT

Carrie Marcotte, PT, MSPT, CLT is a licensed physical therapist who received her undergraduate degree from U.C. San Diego and her Masters of Science in Physical Therapy from Boston University. She specialized in treating the neurologic population prior to receiving her certification as a Lymphedema Therapist through Klose Training Program. She continued her oncology education through the Physiological Oncology Rehabilitation Institute (PORi) and received her certification as an oncology rehabilitation specialist. Through this journey, Carrie has found a passion and drive for helping all patients with a diagnosis of cancer at all stages of the survivorship continuum.
